Social Networking with Ruby

We are working on a social networking community based around academic competitions for a client. The initial application is geared around Latin competitions also known as Certamen.
Latin for “Competition”, Certamen is a quiz bowl-style competition with classic-themed questions. Topics range from the Latin grammar and vocabulary to Latin-based etymology, Roman history and culture, and classical mythology.
Developed in Ruby-on-Rails, our programmers are in the process of reading and implementing the Certamen algorithms.

This week, we started a new Construction based software project using Magento, EXT JS, and Zend Framework.
We are using all three technologies listed above for our client and creating a collaboration hub for multiple independent users or companies working on a single construction project. This way, users can coordinate, communicate and schedule efforts online in a real-time environment. They will also be able to monitor overall project progress and receive real time project completion status, inspection status, updates and progress reports.
PHP Giant in Pakistan
Last week, our CEO announced that Nextbridge has emerged as the largest PHP company in Pakistan. While we aren’t solely PHP, we have more PHP programmers on staff than any other software company in Pakistan. There is a high demand for this technology, so we will continue to add more programmers with this skill set.

While we have hired several new PHP programmers and other skilled developers, our recruitment department has screened the new hires for records of past programming infractions. We do not want to offer our client a programmer who has a shady background of re-using code that belongs to someone else.
Our client’s code is exactly that — code that belongs to our client. We will not hire anyone who has a record of re-utilizing his previous organization’s code, and we will not keep programmers who delve into this at a later date.
